Wausau WRAP Exhibit follows a successful State Conference

We are just back from spending a beautiful weekend in Wausau at the state WRAP conference at the conclusion of a truly wonderful state WRAP exhibition at the Wausau Center for Visual Art.  2014 was the 60th anniversary of WRAP's non-profit partner, the Wisconsin Regional Artist Association and we celebrated by bringing the festivities to Wausau to acknowledge the organization's commitment to the entire State's lay artist community.  The 180+ people that participated in the surrounding events enjoyed learning more about Wausau’s strong visual art community and saw for themselves the fabulous Center for Visual Art.  Here is a chance to share your artwork there again, or for the first time.

The Wausau WRAP and its organizers were acknowledged at the conference for several things, including being the fastest growing WRAP in the state.  All non-professional artists are (defined as not making their livings primarily from their art) to participate in this years Wausau WRAP Exhibition and workshop at the Center for Visual Art sponsored by the Wisconsin Valley Artist Association.  (Note changes from earlier postings).  Artists and art-advocates alike are invited to view the exhibitions free of charge.

Wausau WRAP Particulars

Wisconsin and regional artists are invited to submit entries to participate in this year's Wausau WRAP exhibit by November 1, 2014. There is a $20.00 fee to enter.

Like all WRAP's this art exhibit open to all self-defined non-professional artists.   All art work juried by a professional artist.  Winners of state awards will have their work eligible for the State WRAP Exhibition and will be invited to participate in the annual Wisconsin Regional Arts Association (WRAA) state conference held each September (The 2015 exhibition will be on display August-September at the Pyle Center in Madison).

The Wausau WRAP exhibition will culminate in a one-day workshop on Saturday, January 3, 2015 when this year’s juror,
Brenda Gingles, will present.  Brenda is a jewelry designer and former art educator, as well as retired Director of the Riverfront Art Center and the Carstens' Gallery UW-Stevens Point. She is also the former owner of The Art Connection, a fine art and craft gallery.  The workshop is free to all exhibiting artists.  Guests may attend for a modest $5.00 fee.  Contact WRAP Coordinators Lynn Ott or Lynn Block (see above) with questions.

The 2014 WRAP exhibition will run Saturday, November 15, 2014– January 3, 2014.  Send in your entry and save a place for your art in the exhibition!
