To enter the WRAP program, you must be a non-professional or an artist who makes art but not as their major source of income. A $20 entry fee allows the artist to display up to three works of art for the library’s exhibition. Entry forms and art are due by Saturday, August 2nd.
A WRAP Workshop will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2014, in the lower level of the Greendale Community Learning Center at 5665 Parking Street in Greendale, WI, 53129. The day begins at 9:00 a.m. with a presentation by the wonderful artist and textile historian Beverly Gordon, author of Textiles: The Whole Story: Uses, Meanings, Significance, who will speak for one hour on the creation of her own found object art. Interested members of the public are welcome to attend her talk for at $5.00 donation to the Greendale Public Library Foundation, Inc.
The exhibition juror, Wisconsin Lutheran College Associate Professor of Art Chad Lindemann will then lead a discussion/critique on one piece by each participating artist in the exhibition emphasizing its strengths and areas needing improvement.
At the end of the day, Professor Lindemann will reveal the Wisconsin Regional Art Program Honorable Mention and State Exhibit winners.
